Three centuries ago, the world forgot how its own magic worked.

Nobody knows why. But people are starting to wake up.

Veranthos Thornwick farmland the deep forest older than memory

Beyond the gates of Veranthos lies a world full of forgotten things: quiet farmland, deep forest, the crowded streets of Thornwick, and ruins older than memory.

Not everything out there wants to be found.

Learn magic

Magic here is not a gift. It is a discipline.

There are deeper arts too. Few remember them.

The Lyceum
A character fighting a pack of Mutant Rats on open grass, damage numbers in the air and a pool of poison underfoot.

Fight

Every fight is decided by where you stand, when you strike and what you have left. When you fall, you will know exactly why.

Duel

You know who you are. Come and settle it.

For honour, or put your gold on the line.

I'll be waiting.

Fight with honour and your name earns respect. Prey on the weak and the world turns on you: branded a criminal, hunted for the bounty on your head, and in the end outlawed, with nowhere safe left to hide.

Prefer peace? Stay out of it and still earn in full. Take the risk, and earn more.

Bounty
A dozen players gathered around a fountain, three speech bubbles overhead and the chat panel showing what they said.

Travelling alone?

Not for long. People remember a fair fighter, a sharp mind and a trusted friend.

What's the point?

Levels only take you so far.

In Aethervale, the ones to fear are the ones who understand: the magic, the world's buried history, and each other. Your name is your reputation, and everyone can see it. And under all of it lies a question the whole world is trying to answer.

Before the Silence, we understood. Now, we remember only fragments.

The Silence

Once, the Archons shaped the world itself. Cities floated. Disease was a memory.

Then, 347 years ago, in a single night, it ended. The Archons vanished. The great libraries burned in fires that touched nothing but knowledge. The floating cities fell. By morning, the deep magic was beyond anyone's sight.

The Lyceum has spent three centuries gathering the pieces. Now the old ruins are being dug open, with treasures and horrors inside. The Hollow are seen more often every year.

And some have begun to say the Silence was not an ending.

It was a pause.
